This is the greatest true story that history ever forgot. Told by people with wild imaginations, fiction has seeped into the cracks – though not always where you’d think. The most unbelievable aspects of the story, those are true. Marie was an amazing individual, one of several from the early 20th century who seem to have lived impossibly full lives, with a zesty energy for adventure and athleticism that seems so rare today.

The recorded facts of Marie’s achievements are so notable, they begged the question of who this heroine really was. The answer to this is a little harder to get to the root of, so some guessing and embroidering has gone on. That said, Marie spent the last half of her long years pioneering the development of the Air Ambulance, after learning, practising and mastering far more than the average person does in their entire life time.

Marie’s life and the stories of those who lives intersected hers are out there for those who care to find them and imagine them back to life.
